Hosting Lisa Messenger & Making Space for Women

Last Wednesday, I was one of twenty local women who gathered at The Cottage in Terrigal for an intimate experience with the inspirational Lisa Messenger.

Together with Cherie Brough of Nirvana Wellness Retreats, I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to curate and host this event. Our vision was to provide a space of support, learning and growth for this group of beautiful local women after a challenging few years.

I am so lucky to have shared this day with Lisa and this group of beautiful women.

A bit about Lisa

Lisa has always been an inspiration of mine, and is a founder and CEO of several brands and companies including Collective Hub, her international multimedia business and lifestyle platform. She is a master of diversification when it comes to business, and has built a powerful personal brand, authoring 16 books along the way. She has spoken internationally at conferences and events, several times alongside another of my heroes and friends, Richard Branson. Her vision is to ‘ignite human potential’, building a community of like-minded people who want to change the world. As this is a vision that aligns so closely with my own, Lisa’s presence and guidance at this event just made sense.

Finding ‘purpose’

In 2022, our communities are finding some breathing space as the pandemic eases. Even still, many women within my network are still overwhelmed and struggling with the constant changes that we’ve endured within our family lives and careers. As a coach, speaker and business owner, I knew that women needed a place and time to come together, discuss their goals and challenges and feel supported. Bringing Lisa to the coast for a motivational retreat-meets-workshop was the perfect way to achieve this.

During the day, it was so great to see so many women that I care for share their aspirations and the things that they are going through. The workshop was highly productive, yet felt like downtime, giving these beautiful women a break from their roles as employees, business owners, employers and mothers.

Our day was productive yet also a great opportunity to centre ourselves and unwind.

What’s next?

Lisa is the first speaker in what we hope will be an ongoing boutique event series, designed to bring people together in an intimate setting while expanding their knowledge on various aspects of business, health, wellness and life.

As the mid-week demand for holiday property eases through the week in Autumn, we also have so many spaces that need life breathed into them through the week. The Cottage, where we were on Wednesday, is one such space - a luxury holiday property managed by one of my businesses, Belle Escapes Central Coast. This event series, therefore, is a great way to meet this need too.

Our lunch from Nourished + Nurtured was also divine.

Reflecting on this week, I am so grateful to have been able to create something that people got so much out of, where they could be vulnerable and honest, while walking away with a plan to move forward and live their best lives into 2022 and beyond.

In May, we will be hosting another event with Australian nutritionist and healthy cook, Olivia Kaplan, focussed on nutritious food and healthy dietary habits. You can purchase a ticket here.

The Cottage in Terrigal was the perfect spot for the perfect day.

If you are a local business or speaker who might be interested in an event collaboration in 2022, you can contact my office. Alternatively, you can book a space like The Cottage for a few nights away here.
